Spark Box — Creative Starter Kit
Spark Box is a curated creative starter kit that removes the overwhelm of beginning something new.
Starting a new hobby is harder than it looks. Not because the skill is difficult, but because knowing what to buy, where to start, and what to do first is overwhelming before you have any experience. Most people who want to try something new — watercolour painting, leatherworking, terrarium building — never get past the research phase. Spark Box removes that barrier: a curated starter kit with everything needed for the first session, and a guide that makes the first session actually happen.
ZÆT developed the Spark Box concept from market research through to industrial design and brand identity. The product strategy identified which creative hobbies have the strongest starter kit opportunity — where the barrier to entry is primarily about curation rather than cost or skill. The content strategy defined what goes inside each edition and why, with the first session as the design constraint: everything in the box should be used in the first two hours.
The industrial design resolved the box format and unboxing sequence — the physical experience of opening a Spark Box is part of the product. The brand and visual identity was developed as a product line architecture, with a consistent identity that works across different hobby editions.
