Nomis — 27.5" eMTB Commuter
A mixed-terrain electric bike where the gearbox is a designed-in feature, not an afterthought.
The Nomis is a 27.5" electric mountain bike for mixed terrain commuting. The defining engineering challenge was Pinion gearbox integration — a sealed gear system at the bottom bracket that had to read as designed-in, not accommodated.
ZÆT developed the full frame design around the Pinion gearbox as a primary constraint. Geometry was resolved for mixed terrain use and the Pinion mounting interface was designed into the bottom bracket area structurally and aesthetically. ZÆT established direct supplier contact with Pinion to confirm specification and mounting requirements. The prototype was built and tested through ride validation and structural assessment.
